We are thrilled to complete our first Dynamite Academy on the new courts. We love providing you with a recap on our sessions together. Our goal for you is to build confidence, learn new shots, and be able to implement new strategies.
Here’s your recap:
- Who’s got middle, we learn to respect the X, and then we leave room for creativity, go here to read more
- Attacking at the NZV off the bounce with these five shots: aggressive dink to the right, to the left, and the shoe laces, flick and lob. If we hold our paddle out in triple threat position, it will disquise our shots. From the triple threat position, we can dink, fire or lob
- Attacking off the bounce, toes to the line and ball out, looking to attack balls using the elevator shot and add in top spin onto our shots
- Counter Attacking: We can start recognizing how the ball travels in angles during a fast hands battle. When we anticipate where the ball travels it will make our hands faster and our counter attacks more deadly
- Adding top spin to our forehand and backhands will help keep balls in and add an element of balls traveling down to feet. First we work on footwork and giving our selves the correct spacing from the ball, we slot the paddle, and complete the follow through
- Game Strategy: return down the line and squeeze middle, check it out here
